Facilities Planner - Campus Space Analyst

Position Summary

Responsibilities include maintenance of the campus space data inventory inclusive of all university facilities; development of recurring space data reporting methods to track and analyze changes to campus space over time and inform campus space planning and capital budget requests; and maintenance of accurate, current space-related facilities data inventory including integration and tracking of related building utility data. Additionally, this position will support ongoing building data tracking related to recurring Facility Condition Assessments (FCA).

Hybrid work options may be available. Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Milwaukee campus, with requests for remote work considered after the initial training period. Specifics regarding work location requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture or related field
  2. Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and/or REVIT
  3. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  4. Demonstrated proficiency working with floor plans and construction documents
  5. Minimum of one year of experience in facilities planning and/or GIS planning, resulting in a sound knowledge of architectural graphic conventions or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated proficiency with space data management software (ex. GISESRI Indoors, Archibus, etc.)
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data and generate analytical reports as needed to support campus decision-making
  3. Previous experience in space management, facilities planning, or related roles within a higher education work environment
  4. Demonstrable competency in database management & data analytics
  5. Ability to translate data sets into reportable, shareable information
  6. Understanding of building design and FICM space use codes
  7. Experience tracking and managing building utility data
  8. Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  9. Knowledge of relevant building codes, ADA regulations, and space utilization best practices
  10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  11. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  12. Master’s degree in related field (Urban Planning, Facilities Management, etc.)
