Role Overview

The BIM Manager is a permanent, full-time technical lead within the Facilities Management Engineering Services unit. The role focuses on creating and managing BIM standards, 3D laser scanning of campus infrastructure, and maintaining Revit models to support the University’s integrated life-cycle management and asset management programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modeling & Standards: Create and maintain Revit models for campus buildings; develop workflows and BIM standards for all university projects.

  • Field Work & Data Collection: Perform 3D laser scanning of existing infrastructure and verify field conditions to ensure documentation accuracy.

  • Project Lifecycle Management: Evaluate design documents, lead project close-out reviews, and ensure asset data (O&M manuals, equipment IDs) is integrated into the facility management database.

  • Technical Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for architects, engineers, and contractors regarding BIM requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: 4-year degree (Bachelor’s in Architecture or Engineering preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of program experience (5+ years in commercial construction/BIM leadership preferred).

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D laser scanning software (e.g., Faro Scene). Knowledge of IBC/NC building codes is required.

  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license required.

Compensation & Work Schedule

  • Salary Range: $62,115 – $79,310.

  • Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Exempt).

  • Work Mode: Partial telework eligible (typically 1 day remote).

    • Note: The first 3–6 months are 100% on-site for training and orientation.
